Let’s work together.

As a board-certified life coach and non-licensed, trauma-informed therapist, I specialize in mental, emotional and relational health—particularly focusing on families in need of finding the emotional good bones of their family legacy in order to restore, repair, and rebuild (Isaiah 61:4).

Watch this interview with Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Benjamin Perkus, Creator of Aroma Freedom Technique.

How Therapy Works

The healing process involves significant work in attachment, memory re-consolidation (clearing negative narratives and feedback loops), childhood trauma, embodiment, cognitive reframing, emotion reparation, making meaning and sense of one’s individual and family history, and establishing healthy behavior practices and communication skills.

Your healing journey involves implementing these useful tools:

The Heartlift Method

The Hearlift Method, a synergistic model combining highly strategic principles and practices of counseling, life coaching, and spiritual direction. A three-fold cognitive and emotional healing process that involves reflecting, reframing, and re-authoring your History of Hurts into a Vision of Victory. This model is outlined in Overcoming Hurtful Words: Rewrite Your Story.

“I really cannot say enough about Janell and how much she has helped our family. She has met with each of us individually and collectively as a family. She has given us the tools to tackle some very deep- rooted issues and helped us navigate a ‘new manual’ for our family. She continues to be a source of constant help and support to us. I highly recommend her to any family.”

“Last year, I faced severe trauma. I was led to a small display with books and devotionals, cute calendars and such. The cover of your book caught my eye. Without digging deeper, I hastily brought it to the checkout counter. I started to read. The words were just words. It sat for a year on a shelf tucked away. Fast forward to this month. Not by coincidence shortly after a new traumatic experience in a close relationship, I dug your book out. The words were no longer words. I had an amazing connection with God as I sat in my waiting room. He spoke to me and I felt such comfort. I didn’t want to leave. Tomorrow I will finish the last chapter, Smile at Your Future. I’m already smiling. You have given me some incredible tools to overcome my heartaches. I felt like you were there sitting with me, encouraging me every step of the way.”
