“We will open the book. Its pages are blank.
We are going to put words on them ourselves.
The book is called Opportunity and
its first chapter is New Year’s Day.”

Here I sit while waiting on Brooke’s car to be serviced. Call me crazy, but these type of appointments almost feel like a mini-retreat. A rare few hours where I can hide in a cubicle in their Internet cafe. My briefcase is brimming with screaming student files to be graded. Here, I have time to shut out the world and work without interruption.

I know it has been a few weeks since I’ve posted, but with all three children HOME for the HOLIDAYS, I’m relishing this treasured time by DISCONNECTING with work, as much as possible.

So in honor of my momentary disconnection I thought it would be a great idea to REPLAY and HIGHLIGHT some of our FRESH WORDS from 2011. What better place to start then with Feb. 4, 2011 and our SPIRITUAL HEART EXAM. I know I needed to hear it again. 2011 was a year of deep introspection for me. God worked on the interior of my heart in a profound way. I’ll be writing more about that later, but for now, take five minutes to review this great message on our hearts. May God envelope you in His great love as you examine the interior of your heart. Let’s enter 2012 with open hearts and unclenched [get rid of the grip] hands.
