A Good Year

“We spend January 1st walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives…not looking for flaws, but for potential.”
Ellen Goodman

Welcome 2015!

If I am honest, I’m a little afraid of welcoming 2015.

A little gun shy (as they say in the West).

But, I’m opening my hands, taking a deep breath, and doing it anyway, because, I know, that ultimately “all things work together for my good” (Romans [8:28]). This belief helps me welcome a new year and all that it might hold in its hands.

A Good Year for My Good

On March 13, 2013, I had a face-to-face encounter with the word, “good.”

God redefined that word for me in a very specific manner.

I’ve sincerely never been the same. That life lesson really made me a better person.

And that is what I want to be: a better person.

A Simple Invitation

Today, I’d like to invite you to join me as I intentionally set out to make 2015 a good year.

One in which we:

  • Get to know God better.
  • Get to know ourselves better.
  • Get to know how to love others better.
  • Basically, just become better at life!

We will stand on the shoulders of giants and glean from their wisdom. Look at the world we live in and gather our own wisdom. And, talk about it all…right here.

Today’s Thought:

Take a moment to consider the words of Author Ellen Goodman, “We spend January 1st walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives…not looking for flaws, but for potential.”

How do you intend to make 2015 “a good year?” What untapped potential are you going to release?

I can’t wait to hear!

Until next time…
